Jomarien obtained her bachelor in Pharmaceutical Science at Pharmacy and Food Institute, at the University of Havana, Cuban in 2006. She obtained her master degree in Chemistry in 2011. She worked as an assistant researcher at the Polymeric Biomaterials department in the Biomaterials Center of the University of Havana. The main objective of her PhD-project is the development of an injectable biomaterial based on natural polymers with adequate properties for cartilage tissue engineering.
She was awarded in 2012 with the Annual Award of the Academy of Sciences of Cuba for the work "Preparation and evaluation of micro and nanomaterials based on acryloyloxyethyl trimethyl ammonium chloride hydrogels for biomedical applications"
