- Nuclear Medicine e.g. Tracer administration, lymphoscintigraphy, SPECT/CT, radionuclear therapy, radioguided surgery
- Clinical implementation of innovating surgical guidance techniques: Fluorescence- and radioguided surgery, intraoperative image navigation
Daphne studied Medicine at the University of Leiden, where she conducted a research internship at the department of Nuclear Medicine at the Leids University Medical Center (LUMC). Here she investigated functional parameters measured at time of (differentiated) thyroid cancer ablation with Iodine 131. After graduation in 2006 she started her internship at this same department. She finished her internship in 2010 after spending a period in the Vrije University Medical Center (VUMC) and Netherlands Cancer Institute – Antoni van Leeuwenhoek Hospital (NKI-AvL) to focus on PET-CT and oncology. In December 2010 she started as nuclear physician, where she is responsible for the clinical aspects and education of interns. On top of this she is a member of the Interventional Molecular Imaging group at the Radiology department of the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). This combination gives her a unique position to study the clinical value of hybrid tracers for sentinel node biopsies and various other malignancies.
