Introduction

Qian Tao received her BSc degree (with honors) in Electrical Engineering from Fudan University, Shanghai, China, in 2001. She received her MSc degree (with honors) in Biomedical Engineering from Fudan University in 2004, with her master thesis on Doppler ultrasound blood flow signal simulation and characterization. In 2009 she received her PhD degree from University of Twente, the Netherlands, with her PhD thesis entitled "Face Verification for Mobile Personal Devices", which presented a first-generation biometric authentication system on a PDA device. Her Ph.D work contributed to the 3Dface of European Commission for the prototype European biometric passport, and the Personal Network Polit project of Dutch Freeband.

Qian Tao joined LKEB, Department of Radiology, LUMC in 2009. Her research interest includes medical image analysis, machine learning, application of cardiac MRI in treatment of cardiac arrhythmia, and artificial intelligence in Radiology.
