Clinical PROfiling of PARKinson’s disease

Given that there are considerable differences between patients in the type of symptoms, the severity of these symptoms, as well as in the pace in which these symptoms progress, it is evident that Parkinson’s disease is not a single disease, but a disease with many faces: the so-called subtypes. The purpose of this project is to collect individual data to acquire a profile of a patient’s complaints using measurement instruments such as questionnaires, tests and physical examinations. These profiles are then used to detect differences between patients in disease patterns and disease course. This information is important to obtain insight in the role of the various disease mechanisms and for the development of future treatments.
