Cognitive function

Cognitive functioning may be impaired in Parkinson's disease (PD) and this has important consequences for patient management. Poorer cognitive performance is associated with greater impairment in motor and non-motor domains in PD. The SCales for Outcomes in PArkinson's disease-COGnition (SCOPA-COG) is a valid and reliable instrument for assessing cognitive function in PD. The SCOPA-COG includes 10 items divided over four domains (memory, attention, and executive and visuospatial functioning), and its score ranges from 0-43. Administration takes about 15 minutes.
