Types of treatment provided by Emergency Medical Centres

  • Consultation by telephone
The doctor’s assistant will ask you questions in order to get a good impression of your medical problem. In many cases the doctor’s assistant can give you medical advice personally or decide to let the GP in attendance call you back. Any advice given by a doctor’s assistant is always assessed later by the GP in attendance.
  • Consultation at the Centre or house calls
If the doctor’s assistant deems it necessary, he/she will make an appointment for you with the GP at the Emergency Medical Centre, or, if from a medical point of view, it is not wise for you to come yourself the GP will visit you at home.
  • Referral to First-Aid CentreIf the doctor’s assistant deems it necessary you will be referred to the First-Aid Centre of the Emergency Medical Centre. If, from a medical point of view, it is not wise for you to come yourself, an ambulance will be arranged.

If, after having contacted the Call Centre or the GP, you have any doubts or worries please do not hesitate to call again.
