Outpatient-department appointments

There are several ways to make an appointment with an LUMC outpatient department:

Appointment letter

Once you have made an appointment you will receive an appointment letter in the mail with information when and where you are expected. For appointments that take place within a few days we do not send a letter.

Text message service

Some departments within the LUMC have a text message service. Four days before an appointment you will be sent an appointment reminder. If you wish to receive such a reminder please provide your mobile number when you register.

Need more time?

If you need more time for an appointment or a medical examination because of a handicap or for another reason, please state this when you make your appointment. We will take this into account.

Changing an appointment 

If you need to change or cancel an appointment we kindly request you to do this as early as possible. Contact the outpatient department, either by telephone or via the patient portal, so that the LUMC can use your time slot to see other patients. In this way no time is wasted.

Waiting time

When you have an appointment in the LUMC, you may sometimes have to wait a little, for instance, because of an emergency. We kindly ask for your understanding.

No appointment

If you come to the hospital with a referral but you have no appointment, we will help you as soon as we can.
