Dr. Riella will discuss the latest breakthroughs in pig-to-human kidney transplants and how gene-edited porcine kidneys are paving the way to overcome organ shortages.

Leonardo V. Riella

Leonardo V. Riella, MD, PhD is the Harold and Ellen Danser Endowed Chair in Transplantation and Associate Professor of Medicine & Surgery at Harvard Medical School. He serves as Director of the Kidney Transplant Program and Associate Director of the Legorreta Center for Clinical Transplant Tolerance at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Tango

Dr. Riella also leads the TANGO consortium studying disease recurrence and is pioneering organ bioengineering from stem cells and gene-edited pigs.
