Radiation oncology

Radiation oncology is a clinical specialty treating a wide range of oncology patients with radiation therapy, often in combination with chemotherapy or surgery in organ-sparing treatment. Radiation therapy can be a curative or palliative treatment, and our research focuses on both. The department has both innovative clinically related research, combined with translational research, research into proton therapy, late outcomes, rehabilitation and quality of life, palliative care research.

Moreover, the Imaging and the large Artificial Intelligence research groups focus on innovative optimized automated use of image-guidance for treatment verification and planning and explainable AI.
