Raymond Noordam PhD is an assistant professor in cardiometabolic epidemiology (PhD obtained in 2015, Erasmus University). His research is focused investigating risk factors for the development in cardiometabolic disease using large population-based studies (e.g., NEO study, UK biobank, through international collaborations). His research is particularly focused on the role of sleep and circadian timing in the onset of cardiometabolic disease and on investigating risk factors in underrepresented subgroups of the general population (e.g., low socioeconomic status, women, people with non-European background).
Noordam is very active in different educational programs in the LUMC, and most notably in the programs Health, Ageing and Society, Biomedical Sciences (Bachelor + Master) and Medicine (Bachelor) through the coordination of multiple courses and being the overall coordinator of data science in teaching for the Biomedical Sciences program.
