Introductie

Dr. Mieog heeft zijn studie geneeskunde gevolgd aan de Universiteit Leiden, waar hij in 2007 cum laude afstudeerde als arts. Hij promoveerde tot doctor in de geneeskunde in 2011 op het gebied van timing van chemotherapie en chirurgie en de klinische translatie van fluorescence image-guided surgery. Van 2010 tot 2016 was hij in opleiding tot chirurg in het HagaZiekenhuis te Den Haag en LUMC. Sinds 2016 is hij als chirurg aangesteld bij het Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum te Leiden.


Onderzoek

Het onderzoek van dr. Mieog richt zich op de klinische evaluatie van pancreas- en leverchirurgie alsmede op de diagnostische waarde van nieuwe beeldvormende technieken voorafgaand en tijdens operaties met als doel een betere kwaliteit van selectie en resectie tijdens (minimaal-invasieve) operaties bij patienten met maligniteiten in het HPB gebied. Hij is momenteel supervisor van drie PhD-studenten en verschillende medisch studenten.
