With a background in basic neuroelectrophysiology, several research fellowships in Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, and my vast clinical experience, I perform an important "bridging" function between the fundamental and applied research in our department. This involves both the translation of basic research findings into clinical practice as well as the tackling of clinical problems by way of basic research.
