Introduction
After graduating in Applied Physics Engineering at Ghent University (Belgium), I obtained a PhD in Physics investigating heart rhythm disorders.
In 2025 I joined the LUMC as an Associate Professor after being awarded the LUMC fellowship.
Scientific research
My aim is to gain a better understanding in cardiac arrhythmias via combining data from patients or experiments with expert knowledge, i.e. cardiologists’ expertise and basic laws of physics. This work integrates the fields of exact sciences, medical imaging, mathematical modeling and AI.
