P.K. (Kiki) Chung, MD

I am an all-round clinical microbiologist, combining consultative activities in bacteriology, parasitology and virology, with a PhD-candidacy on congenital cytomegalovirus infections. I studied Medicine at the VUmc and did my specialization in the LUMC and before becoming a staff member in 2021.

I was involved in a clinical trial on treatment of clinically inapparent congenital CMV-infections and am currently focusing on researching the epidemiology and predictive factors for long-term outcome of congenital CMV. I am also a member of the LUMC expertise center for rare prenatal and congenital diseases.
