Area(s) of expertise:
Care for older people, lifestyle, valorisation, implementation
Introduction
As a health scientist, I enjoy working on lifestyle, prevention, population-based care, and vulnerable groups, including the elderly. I enjoy bridging the gap between research and practice by focusing on valorization and implementation, participation, and education. I work as a postdoctoral researcher at Health Campus The Hague (Department of Public Health and Primary Care) on the implementation of lifestyle interventions in primary care and the social domain. I have also conducted research on the organization of care for older persons.

Previously I specialized in valorizing scientific knowledge to improve practice. As a lecturer I obtained my Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO), and I coordinated the participation of older adults in education and research.

I studied Health Sciences at the University of Amsterdam, took courses in biomedical sciences, and the minor in Psychobiology of Eating Behavior at Wageningen University & Research. In 2017, I completed my Master's degree in Vitality and Aging with honors.
Scientific research
In my current position, I conduct research on implementing lifestyle interventions in primary care and the social domain, focusing on their preventive use to reduce disease.

Previously, I worked at Leiden University Medical Center on research into the organization of care for older persons. My PhD focused on geriatric rehabilitation, infection prevention, and quality of life in nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, conducted within the University Network for the Care Sector South Holland. Earlier, I studied transitions of care between hospital and primary care for vulnerable older people and methods to support their participation in research.

I have experience with quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research, including interviews, focus groups, Nominal Group Technique, longitudinal analysis using linear multilevel models, and literature reviews.
