Electron Microscopy Facility

First time users

If you are a first time user of our facility, just contact us by e-mail. r.i.koning@lumc.nl, phone: +31 71 5269 296, or visit: LUMC, building 2, room R-90-21 (Einthovenweg 20) and we will guide you through the process.

What to do if unsure

If you have any questions about EM techniques, procedures, pricing or any other matter, just contact us r.i.koning@lumc.nl and we can answer your question and if necessary schedule a meeting.  

Steps for internal customers

  1. Contact EM facility (e-mail, phone or visit)
  2. Plan intake meeting (online or in person)
  3. Register as a user in PPMS (management system, wait for confirmation)
  4. Request for a new project in PPMS (wait for confirmation)
  5. Order service in PPMS
  6. Make appointment for sample transfer (e-mail or in PPMS)
  7. EM imaging will be done by facility staff (wait for confirmation)
  8. A meeting for discussing the results will be planned.  

Steps for external academic customers

  1. Contact EM facility (e-mail, phone or visit)
  2. Plan intake meeting (online or in person)
  3. Register as a user in PPMS (management system, wait for confirmation)
  4. Request for a new project in PPMS (wait for confirmation)
  5. Order service in PPMS
  6. Make appointment for sample transfer (e-mail or in PPMS)
  7. EM imaging will be done by facility staff (wait for confirmation)
  8. A meeting for discussing the results will be planned.  

Steps for external non-academic customers

  1. Contact EM facility (e-mail, phone or visit)
  2. Plan intake meeting (online or in person)
  3. Set up and sign legal agreements
  4. Register as a user in PPMS (management system, wait for confirmation)
  5. Request for a new project in PPMS (wait for confirmation)
  6. Make appointment for sample transfer (e-mail or in PPMS)
  7. EM imaging will be done by facility staff (wait for confirmation)
  8. Data and a final report will be send to customer.
  9. A meeting for discussing the results will be planned.
