Education

Incoming students

The LUMC offers several opportunities for incoming students to gain international experience during their studies, see below.

Electives (half minors)

LUMC offers electives (or half minors) in English open to international students. Each elective course of 10 weeks covers a specific theme and has strong links with cutting-edge research within the LUMC.

Curricular courses

Several curricular courses of the bachelor programs Medicine and Biomedical Sciences are taught in English in order to attract international students and to create an international classroom for our Dutch students. In most courses we have places available for international students.

Research internships

It is also possible to do master level research internships at our research departments.

Master’s degree programs (in English)

LUMC offers several master’s degree programs in English: ‘Health, Ageing and Society’, ‘Population Health Management’, ‘Biomedical Sciences’, ‘Technical Medicine’ and ‘Transfusion Medicine and Cellular and Tissue Therapies’.

International Students

International students have a wide range of opportunities to do their studies or part of their studies at the Leiden University Medical Center.
