Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist

A. (Akin) Inderson

Introduction
I’m a gastroenterologist and hepatologist with expertise in interventional endoscopy and hepato-pancreatico-biliary diseases (HPB). My focus is on hepatobiliary endoscopic interventions by ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound, gastroscopy/enteroscopy, and all their combinations. I focus on the treatment of patients with PSC and other biliary tract disorders, screening and diagnosing cholangiocarcinoma and pancreatic cancer, addressing complex gallstone issues, and managing indeterminate biliary strictures.
In the oncological domain, I am actively involved in various care pathways: liver tumors, pancreatic carcinoma, esophageal/gastric carcinoma, and contribute to local, national, and international studies in the aforementioned areas.
Scientific research
As a Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist, I also participate in the liver transplantation team, where we provide care for patients with acute and acute-on-chronic liver failure, as well as chronic cholestatic liver diseases. Furthermore, I have experience in treating viral, metabolic, and vascular liver diseases. Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis, in particular, has captured my attention, and I am involved in the national PSC research consortium.
