The department is a research and teaching department in the LUMC. The department is a research and teaching department in the LUMC. It is active in all years of the studies Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and has a SMBWO accredited post-master programme to become a registered Epidemiologist B. Many of the courses of this programme can also be followed separately. The research has several programmes, and is mainly conducted in close collaboration with clinical departments and laboratories. The overall aim is to find answers through research to clinically relevant questions. The department has a laboratory and a datamanagement unit.
