C.J.Gorter MRI Center

The Gorter Center develops new magnetic resonance technology for specific clinical and pre-clinical applications within the LUMC. We provide imaging expertise to multiple departments and cross-cutting new ideas to the research pillars.

New data acquisition methods are being developed for non-invasive blood flow measurements for neurological applications, quantitative fat fraction assessment for neuromuscular diseases, high resolution imaging of ocular tumours and treatment assessment, multi-modal imaging of pre-clinical disease models.

New image processing techniques are being developed to enable faster scanning, improved patient comfort and increased workflow. New imaging systems are being designed and constructed for extending the role of MRI in terms of accessibility and sustainability. Strong partnerships with Philips and clinical colleagues from multiple departments within the LUMC enable rapid translation of new developments to patient studies.
