Clinical Geneticist, Assistant professor

Dr. S. Moghadasi, MD

Introduction
I am a clinical geneticist and researcher at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) and the Reinier de Graaf Hospital. My focus is on hereditary tumors/oncogenetics, and I conduct research on VUS (Variants of Uncertain Significance) in breast and ovarian cancer genes.

After studying biomedical sciences and medicine in Leiden, I completed my PhD research (2012-2017) and trained as a clinical geneticist at the LUMC (2015-2020). In 2014, I also obtained my Master's degree in Genomic & Molecular Epidemiology from Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Within the Dutch Association for Clinical Genetics (VKGN), I serve as secretary of the Clinical Oncogenetics Working Group (WKO) and as a member of the Mainstreaming project group. In addition, I am a member of the National Consultation on Hereditary Breast Cancer (LOB) committee and of the international Evidence-based Network for the Interpretation of Germline Mutant Alleles (ENIGMA consortium).
