Introduction
I became interested in clinical genetics during my medical training in Leiden. During my residency, I began conducting scientific research, which I completed in 2021 with a PhD on hereditary colorectal cancer. In 2023, I completed my specialization as a clinical geneticist. During the final part of my training, I focused on prenatal diagnosis and hereditary disorders in children with developmental problems and/or congenital abnormalities.
In addition to my clinical work, I am involved in scientific research into genetic testing during pregnancy.
Within the Dutch Association for Clinical Genetics (VKGN), I am active as secretary of the Prenatal Genetics Working Group and a member of the committee that organizes continuing education and professional development for our profession.
