Introduction
Since 2016, I have worked at the Department of Clinical Genetics at the LUMC, initially as a resident and researcher, and since 2025 as a Clinical Geneticist. My focus is on hereditary diseases of the small cerebral vessels, such as CADASIL. These diseases cause strokes and dementia and are much more common than initially thought. At the LUMC center of expertise for hereditary cerebral vascular diseases, I see patients and their family members with hereditary cerebral vascular diseases and conduct scientific research. In addition to patient care and research, I am involved in establishing the Clinical Genetics Biobank. My goal is to improve care for patients with hereditary cerebral vascular diseases and to contribute to the development of future therapies.
