On Tuesday 22 May 2018 the Young Faculty Network organizes a debate and symposium "The future of research funding for (young) scientists. This is your chance to be involved in the discussion on the future of research funding.
Date: Tuesday 22 May 2018
Time: 17.30-19.30 hrs (drinks afterwards)
Location: Buruma Lecture Hall
Chair: Prof. Douwe Breimer
The recent discussions on the establishment of the Oncode institute, in The Netherlands, has evoked a broad discussion on the best strategies to fund research.
- Should money go to selected, more established research groups or should research money be distributed to a broader range of scientists?
- What does this imply for the career perspective of young scientists?
- How can diversity be ensured?
We would like to address these questions in a debate, moderated by Prof. Ineke Sluijter with a panel of representatives from:
- KNAW The Young Academy
- Health Holland
- Long Fonds
- Samenwerkende GezondheidsFondsen (Michael Rutgers)
This is your chance to ask questions and be involved in the discussion on the future of research funding.
