Clinical Research Center

The Clinical Research Center expertise includes single and multicenter trials and registries, both national and international. Researchers and physicians who would like to start clinical research can contact for support for all stages of the project from protocol to publication. This involves prospective registrations and phase II, III, and IV trials.

In 1987 the surgical oncology trial office was founded by Prof. Dr. Cock van de Velde, renamed in 1990 to Datacenter Department of Surgery and from 2020 in Clinical Research Center. The facility is available for clinical investigators of the LUMC and external parties.

• Development eCRF/database (CASTOR or ProMISe)

Initiation and conduct of the project:
• Trial- and datamanagement
• Start-up participating centers (multicenter trial)
• Register and randomise patients
• Datacleaning
• Central and on-site monitoring
• Daily contact
• Safety desk
• Annual safety and other reports
• Trial updates (newsletters, mailing, presentations, etc)
• Generate SPSS datasets

Team

The Clinical Research Center consists of a head, trial managers, senior data managers, data managers and research assistants. The Clinical Research Center works in close collaboration with (clinical) researchers, project managers and PdD students. Furthermore, it has a structural cooperation with the Department of Medical Statistics and Bioinformatics.

Costs

Costs depend on the requested services. Start-up costs are applicable for every project. Other costs may be on a per patient basis, or on the basis of a certain amount of work (fte).
