The Medical Ethics Committee Leiden The Hague Delft is a committee recognized by the Dutch Central Committee on Research Involving Human Subjects (CCMO).

The Medical Ethics Committee Leiden The Hague Delft (Dutch: Medisch Ethische ToetsingsCommissie Leiden Den Haag Delft or METC LDD) carries out the following tasks, among others:

  • Assessing medical-scientific research involving people.
  • Arranging consent from the Board of Directors for research at LUMC that is subject to the Medical Research Involving Human Subjects Act (WMO).
  • Determining the obligation of the Medical Research Involving Human Subjects Act (WMO) in retrospective and prospective research with and without body parts.
