At the initiative of several healthcare workers from various academic centers, a silent protest was held this afternoon to draw attention to the need for free access to medical care in Gaza.

The protest at LUMC was the first in a series of actions that will take place in relay form over the coming days at all seven university medical centers in The Netherlands.

The pre-announced protest took place at 12:00 p.m. on the hospital's main square and lasted about ten minutes. During the gathering, two minutes of silence were observed.

LUMC stands for safe healthcare for everyone, including in conflict zones anywhere in the world. As LUMC, we understand and support this afternoon’s protest. By supporting this action, we advocate for the universal right to medical care worldwide.
