Introduction
The cluster Research IT of the section Advanced Data Management is developing software applications and data management services for clinical scientific epidemiological research. As coordinator of the Research IT team I contribute to the design and implementation of techniques to further extend and optimize the IT infrastructure for research at the department of Biomedical Datasciences (LUMC), using the OBiBa open source software platform as spearhead. Furthermore, I facilitate the development of automated workflows, IT tools and procedures to enhance the reusability and interoperability of research data and software according to the FAIR principles.
I studied Experimental Physics at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU), and obtained my PhD at Leiden University in the field of nonlinear dynamical systems theory and time series analysis, applied to electrical activation patterns recorded in the heart (atrial fibrillation) and brain (temporal lobe epilepsy).
