Parking costs and payment

• First 30 minutes: €1.10
• Up to 3 hours: €2.20 per hour
• Thereafter (continuous rate): €1.10 per 30 minutes
• Maximum daily rate/lost card: €52.80

There is a discount scheme for patients and/or visitors staying longer than 3 hours (see Discount below).

Pay the parking fees before leaving the car park. You can pay by debit card or mobile phone at the car park. Cash payments are not accepted.

Discount

Will you, your family, or your companions be at the LUMC for more than three hours? If so, you are eligible for a discount card for our parking garage at Albinusdreef 14. With this card, you can park for a maximum of €6.60 per day.

The reception staff at the nursing ward or outpatient clinic can provide you with further information and give you an application form. You can collect the discount card from the information desk in the central hall. Outside office hours, discount cards can be collected from the security control room. 

Participants in courses and refresher training are not eligible for the discount scheme in accordance with LUMC policy.

Parking pay machines

The parking pay machines are located at the entrance to the parking garage. They are also located in the central hall of our main building (the hospital). Please note: it takes at least 15 minutes to walk from the parking lot to your location in the LUMC.

Kiss & Ride

Are you having trouble walking? Then you can get in and out of your car at the Kiss & Ride signs in front of the main entrance of the LUMC (Building 1). You may park your vehicle here for a maximum of 10 minutes. After this time, please park your vehicle in one of the LUMC parking areas. If you fail to do so, we will place a wheel clamp on your vehicle. You will be charged an administrative fee of €50 to have the wheel clamp removed.

Are you mobility impaired and do you have an appointment in the polyclinic building (Building 14, route 1000) Orthopedics, Surgery, or Plaster Room? Then bring someone to accompany you. You can park on the ground floor of the parking garage (access via intercom) where wheelchairs are available.

You can also get in and out of your car at the clinic building by driving to Henri Dunantstraat (navigation address: Henri Dunantstraat 5). However, you cannot park there. Your companion can pick up a wheelchair at the clinic building and then park the car in the parking garage.

Disabled parking spaces

If you are disabled, you can use the disabled parking spaces on the ground floor of the parking garage. With a disabled parking permit, you can also park in the parking lot to the right of the entrance to Building 1. Please display your disabled parking permit visibly on the dashboard.

Wheelchairs are available on the ground floor of the parking garage and at the parking location (C location) opposite the parking garage. You can borrow a wheelchair with a 2 euro coin. You will get your coin back when you return the wheelchair.

Canta vehicles & microcars

Neither type of vehicle is allowed to park on the sidewalk. Cantas may park in parking spaces reserved for disabled persons. Microcars must park in other parking spaces.

License plate recognition

The LUMC has license plate recognition in all parking lots. This allows you to exit quickly and easily. When you enter a parking lot, your license plate is scanned and linked to your parking ticket. Once you have paid for your parking ticket, the barrier will open automatically. This means you do not need to present your parking ticket when leaving. We use your data exclusively for parking purposes. After you leave the parking garage, your license plate details are deleted from our system.

Charging electric cars temporarily not possible

At this moment, it is not possible to use the charging stations. It is still unknown when the facilities will be back in use. We advise you to travel to the LUMC with a full car battery, to charge along the way if necessary, or to use the electric charging stations in the vicinity of the hospital.

Normally, we have several parking spaces with charging stations for electric cars. These are located on the 12th floor of the parking garage and in the parking lot opposite. Once the charging stations are working again, you will pay for your electricity consumption. These costs will be automatically charged to your charging card.
