Proud, powerful and self-confident African women are the main subject in the photographs of Angèle Etoundi Essamba (1963).
With her photographic representations, Etoundi Essamba gives a new and personal interpretation of contemporary Africa. Hence the title of the series: Reminiscense - a story about the past as it is remembered by the narrator.
