Research

There are strong research lines on Prevention and Lifestyle within several departments at LUMC. We believe they can significantly benefit from each other and develop new high-quality research. Therefore, we aim to further strengthen research collaborations at LUMC within our theme and between the various research themes.

Furthermore, we think joint meetings to further boost collaboration and write large grant proposals together will result in high-quality research, high-impact publications, grants, and the generation of new consortia. This may also improve LUMC’s national and international position.

Projects

Organization of regular meetings (monthly or bimonthly)

These meetings will allow researchers (PhD students, senior researchers), caretakers, and other participants with interest or affinity with our theme to get familiar with each other. The ultimate goal is to initiate collaborations, both within the theme and across themes. Furthermore, we will regularly invite international researchers to promote international collaborations.

Increase success for grant applications

We will organize brainstorming sessions to apply for large research grants that involve our theme. To further facilitate this, we will appoint a review board within our team dedicated to internally reviewing and providing feedback on research grants regarding prevention and lifestyle to increase the chances of success.
