The gallery is open daily from 8.00 am to 8.00 pm, and admission is free of charge.
Since 1986 a gallery has been situated on the ground floor of the main building (Building 1) showing new exhibits of work by contemporary artists five times a year. The exhibits often revolve around a particular theme. Once a year the gallery presents a solo exhibit with work by a young painter.
Exhibit policy reflects the structure of the collection. The presentations are intended to show collection policy in a broader context and to offer a broader overview of artists whose works are part of the collection.
The gallery also sponsors special projects involving exchanges between art and science. Researchers from the LUMC are approached, or suggest their own ideas, so that contemporary art can be an apt platform for exchange and imagination.
