About the network

RADIOguide is a network which combines the expert knowledge of some leading European centers (currently 5 partners) and industrial partners (currently 3 partners) in the field of radioguided surgery. These partners have also joined forces to further strengthen this line of molecular imaging research by validating new prototypes of portable (imaging) technologies and novel (hybrid) tracers for minimal invasive surgery. Jointly we strive to increase the accuracy of surgical procedures thereby improving survival and quality of life of (cancer) patients. The latter will help speed up the social reintegration of patients, thereby reducing the economic burden of the disease.

Together we aim to accelerate the interactions between basic scientists, clinicians and private sector partners. Such strong public-private partnerships allow us to directly bridge the gap between technical engineering and medical application of new technologies. With this consortium we also formalize and strengthen existing collaborations and training activities. The partners in the project have played a leading role in training activities coordinated by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM).
