Minneke Coenraad, senior medical staff member since 2007, is gastroenterologist-hepatologist and head of the Liver Tumors Group at the LUMC. Her main interest is in understanding the pathophysiology of complications of end-stage liver disease such as acute-on-chronic liver failure and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). She is experienced in running multicenter studies on complications of end-stage liver disease, involved in leading positions in two Horizon 2020- funded research projects (RADIcAL and MICROB-PREDICT) and founder and head of the Dutch Cancer Society-funded Dutch HCC biobank. She is director of the United European Gastroenterology (UEG) summer school, board member of several national and international committees (e.g. UEG National Societies Committee, UEG Education committee, Dutch Hepatocellular carcinoma Group, Dutch Portal Hypertension Group) and associate editor of the peer-reviewed journal ‘Liver International’. She is a visiting professor at the Dept of Hepatology, KU Leuven, Belgium since 2019.
