Pharmacogenetics of Voriconazole (LUMC)
Department: Clinical Pharmacy and Toxicology
Voriconazole, a triazole antifungal agent, demonstrates wide interpatient variability in serum concentrations. The VORI ZONMW TRIAL, a prospective multicentre trial in 11 Dutch medical centers investigated the effect of voriconazol therapeutic drug monitoring on outcomes of drug treatment in patients with haematological malignancies and possible, probable or proven invasive pulmonary
aspergillosis. For all patients detailed clinical data were collected. For 113 patients participating in the pharmacogenetics side study germline DNA was collected. The current project aims to investigate the association between voriconazole concentrations and CYP2C19 and CYP2C9 genotypes.
