Population Genetics

Prof.dr. Peter de Knijff

Essentially, population genetics is the analysis of the interaction between evolution and migration. These two factors are responsible for most of the genetic variation present among human populations. At the department of Human Genetics, most population genetic population genetic research is done by the Forensic Laboratory for DNA Research (FLDO ) and focuses on the development and the use of genetic variants as a tool to reconstruct the evolution and migration of human populations.
