vVered Raz obtained her PhD at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel with an excellency. She followed a Post-Doc in the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia in the lab of Joseph Ecker. For this term she received the Fulbright award. She then obtain the European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) fellowship and the Marie Curie and moved to Wageningen University, The NL for a second Post-Doc. In the two Post-Doc periods she investigated plant development and the growth of the plant seedling. She then made a research focus change and in Leiden University Medical Center she investigate muscle cell senescence and muscle aging in late onset muscular disorders and normal aging.
She was an ambassador for EMBO program. She is a member of LUMC Comenius program. She is involved in various science education programs for secondary school.
