The Bioinformatics Center of Expertise offers bioinformatics advice to all LUMC reseachers who work in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and other fields that rely heavily on bioinformatics tools. This advice is a form of interdisciplinary scientific cooperation. A list of consultants can be found here.
The Bioinformatics Center of Expertise also performs methodological research to develop new bioinformatics methods and to improve the performance and understanding of existing ones. This research is closely linked with the bioinformatical consulting, as problems arising from consulting give direction to the methodological research, which in turn helps improve the consulting activity. The research is conducted by various groups related to the Center of Expertise. See here for some tools we have developed.
