Han Belt is the Director of the Walaeus Library, the medical library of the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). For more information about the Library, see  www.lumc.nl/walaeus.  

In this work, it is important to do the right things and to do them right - for our end-users and ultimately for our patients and society in general. Therefore is our main focus the dissemination of the right information at the right time in the right form to the right person.
At the Walaeus Library, the following themes are explored: science communication; information business models; information markets; workflows in the information chain; science publishing; information access provision through subscriptions, licensing, and open access.

By understanding how clinicians and researchers work, we are able to help them manage their workflow. This is why we offer paper clinics, instruction courses and courses in information literacy and database searching; we also provide them with personal assistance in conducting literature research.
