P. berghei - Transgenic mutant lines

mosquito - Leiden Malaria Research Group

A number of transgenic P. berghei lines expressing reporters such as GFP and Luciferase as well as mutant parasites that are deficient in expressing specific parasite proteins from the Leiden Malaria Research Group are  available from the  Malaria Research and Reference Reagent Resource Center (MR4)

We strongly prefer that these parasite lines are requested at MR4 because shipment of parasite lines and maintenance of sufficient stocks is time demanding.
Additional information about these parasite lines can be found in Shared DOCUMENTS (subfolder 'TRANSGENIC PARASITES') on our Sharepoint site

For obtaining other P. berghei lines (i.e. those not deposited with MR4), we request you to fill out the  'parasite request' form
Unpublished transgenic parasite lines will usually only be provided 'on a collaborative basis'.

The Leiden Malaria Research Group provides a database containing information on all genetically modified rodent parasite lines: see  Pberghei.eu.
