P. berghei - protocols and databases
P. berghei protocols and databases
All protocols and databases from the Leiden Malaria Research Group (LMRG) are available on the password protected 'SharePoint' environment.
Login details
Username and password for the Sharepoint-site can be requested by filling out the ‘request for access/password' form.
The password is not sent to 'general' e-mail addresses like hotmail, yahoo, gmail or plasa, only to institutional e-mail addresses.
The Sharepoint site contains the following information:
- ‘FAQ and Discussion’ where we give some answers to a number of frequently asked questions relating to our P. berghei research and parasites.
- Detailed P. berghei laboratory protocols (parasitological methods, molecular techniques, transfection technologies); laboratory protocols published in Nature Protocols; videos of laboratory protocols.
- Transgenic P. berghei lines available from MR4.
- Information about a number of standard plasmids used for genetic modification of P. berghei that are available from MR4.
- Databases (Excel files):
- Transcriptome data of all blood stages of P. berghei including gametocytes
- Proteome data of male and female gametocytes
- Chromosome location of P. falciparum and Rodent Malaria Parasite genes
- P. falciparum and Rodent Malaria Parasite ‘specific genes’
- RMP sequence contigs aligned along the composite chromosomes of rodent malaria parasite (RMP) and aligned along the P. falciparum chromosomes
- Proteome data from different studies of different stages of P. berghei and P. falciparum
The Leiden Malaria Research Group provides a database containing information on genetically modified rodent parasite lines generated by many labs worldwide: see Pberghei.eu.
