RSS Feeds
How can you subscribe to LUMC RSS feeds?
What is RSS?
A growing number of websites offer the possibility of subscribing to news or updates. This means that a program on your computer automatically collects news items that are of interest to you. We call such a program an RSS reader, and it is often indicated by this icon:
The LUMC website offers RSS feeds for the following browsers:
To subscribe
If your browser has a built-in reader, you can subscribe to our RSS feeds by clicking on the above link(s).
Then follow the instructions of your browser, e.g. Internet Explorer: Subscribe to this feed.
Which RSS reader is best for you to use?
Increasingly, web browsers come with a built-in RSS reader that you can use automatically. This is the case for Internet Explorer, version 7 and up, Firefox, Opera and Safari (see the help function of your browser).
A number of RSS readers are offered on the internet free of charge. These readers generally provide greater functionality.
How does it work?
The RSS reader gathers news from the sites you have subscribed to and places them in your RSS reader, or aggregator. You can stay abreast of any news simply by reviewing your own RSS aggregator without having to visit all the websites. All items that come from one site are called an RSS feed.
